Hey what’s up? My name is Jamie LaFave. Iam 49 years old

Iam from Escanaba Michigan.

I have been drumming for 38 years.

I also have been a drum teacher for 30 years.

I started playing drums at the age of 12 inspired by Elvis Presley and his drummer Ronnie Tutt.

That was my 12th birthday present 

Drum lessons!!! And I’ve never looked back since!!!!

In Junior High I got into the Jazz Band and then came band, concert band, marching band, and Jazz band.

Which I really enjoyed but honestly found out then and for all the drumming years to come I’m a Metalhead and later really got into Prog Metal and that’s just the way it was meant to be!!

Drum lessons broadened my musical horizons and got me into bands like Metallica, Testament, Ozzy Osbourne, Queensryche, Pantera, Rush, Dream Theater, Anthrax, WASP, Nuclear Assault, Korn,Rob Zombie,Slipknot,Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Armored Saint, Fates Warning, Symphony X, Sevendust,Faith No More,Slayer and many others.

Once when I discovered and heard double bass drumming and its rumble I began to idolize drummers such as Tommy Aldridge, Mike Portnoy, Joey Jordison and Dave Lombardo.

I immediately wanted to learn how to play it and it became a signature of my drumming style to this very day.

I have been in many cover and original bands(to many to mention)

I have made many recordings. I have played many gigs and I have also some touring under my belt.

Iam efficient in playing in many different styles such as Rock, Metal, Prog, Country, Pop, Blues, Disco, and some Jazz.

I have been profiled in DRUM! Magazines New Blood column, Modern Drummer Magazines On The Move column and would love to be featured again.

I did rudiment instructional segments on drum radio.

I appeared on Metal Meltdown  with Dave Softee.

Iam actually looking to join a Pro Signed Metal band to record and tour with.

I want to take my drumming and my music career to the masses.
